Happy New Year

After a couple of lackluster craft shows in November and December I had to step back over the Christmas holiday and recharge.  This year will be more about exploring my creativity and doing what I want to do rather than what I think I can sell.  There are always ideas rolling around in my head, little time to develop them and I am working on a strategy to allow myself to devote more uninterrupted time in my studio.

Which, by the way, is a New and Improved Studio – complete with an overhead storage shelf, additional lighting,  rearranged workspace for a lot more room, and a huge central work surface that Mr. Handyman made for me to accommodate my brand-new silk stretcher frame and plenty of room to lay out fabric, patterns, and paints and for general craftiness.  It’s a much more efficient area and I’m so excited to not have to rummage around for a half hour finding all my supplies before I can even get started on anything!  He’s been so supportive and so ready and able to jump in and construct exactly what I need.  I don’t know what I’d do without him.  I do know.  It would be nothing.  Because I’d be too busy moving piles of stuff from one place to another to ever get anything done!  Organization – not my strong suit.  That could be a New Year’s resolution of mine – stay better organized.  yeah, right.

In any case, I’m so happy to have a great space now and I’ve got lots to work on.
